Partner: Spring Innovation

Spring has been a valuable partner in providing an informed approach to communication and making introductions within the industry.

Spring Innovation Logo

Inneauvate Limited is a UK SME developing groundbreaking technologies to reduce energy and chemical usage and minimise environmental impact, helping water utilities and private operators progress toward net zero.

Over the past two years, Inneauvate has benefitted from working closely with Spring, represented by Ben Hatfield-Wright, to navigate and accelerate the adoption of our innovations within the UK and Ireland water sectors. With Spring’s guidance and support, we successfully secured £330k of funding from Innovate UK, which has been instrumental in advancing our technology development. Additionally, Spring is currently supporting us in seeking matched funding, with contributions proposed from UK operators.

Spring has been a valuable partner in providing an informed approach to communication and making introductions within the industry. This has helped us engage with key scientists, managers, sites, and sample providers, creating opportunities to collaborate and gain vital technical and financial backing.

Ben has been a consistent source of insight and support throughout our development projects. His ability to connect us with operators and align our innovations with stakeholder needs has been invaluable in identifying opportunities to test and validate our technologies at an operational scale — a critical milestone for any new technology.

The respect and trust Spring commands across the water sector have been evident in their ability to bring together organisations, people, and ideas. Ben, in particular, has been approachable and responsive, offering thoughtful guidance and creating connections that have enhanced our progress. Spring’s role has been one of enabling and supporting innovation in the sector, and we are grateful for the positive impact their involvement has had on our journey.

Partner: South West Water

South West Water has been enormously helpful in providing access to samples and sites for validating developments and trialing our technologies in operational wastewater environments.

Inneauvate were introduced to South West Water in the spring of 2023. Our request for access to activated sludge samples to support a SMART Grant application was positively received and we were successful in our application to UKRI. The project centred around Proof of Concept to utilise Capacitance sensing in a Watewater environment.

Usually employed as a technology in brewing and pharmaceuitals production, the abilities of Capacitance sensing in dynamically changing multi-organism environments was thought to be limited.

South West Water fully supported our laboratiory work, allowing easy acces to samples and site information, and when positive outcomes were seen, they once again supported our application to UKRI for a second SMART Grant to develop the technology as a working prototype integrated into a complimentary respirometer instrument.

With an increasingly close relationship, Site managers and Scientists fully supported installation of prototype instruments on a range of sites. We are currently, jointly analysing the data outputs and planning the next phase of technology implementations to inculde the Version 4 instrument currently in design and build phase.
